We had a great time chatting with three-time Oscar winner (and nine-time nominee) Colleen Atwood this week about the costumes featured in Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's passion project, Dark Shadows, which opens May 11.
What Do You Think Of The New Jeweled Headbands
Tilda Swinton, nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the dark drama We Need to Talk About Kevin, is a fashionista's fashionista: she wears avant-garde looks all of the time by Prada, Viktor & Rolf, Jil Sander and YSL on the red carpet. But to this year's Golden Globes, in many ways the most important Hollywood awards show for serious fashion-forward fashion, she wore an unusual and very modern look by her designer best pal Haider Ackermann.
Turns out, all are friends of Lepore's, some even neighbors. Tucci and Falco attend every show. Edie wears the clothes all the time, and was showing off her burgundy print dress -- "isn't it cute?" she asked reporters, jumping around friskily in a Nanette mini dress.
SUPPORTING ACTOR Christian Bale, The Fighter
Jones is a good catch for her: The young actress can adapt any look -- 1960s, modern -- and she's the face of the fall Burberry ad campaign. She's got great lips and doe eyes, light skin and dark hair.
Nothing about his spring 2013 collection was revolutionary, but it doesn't have to be. Armani shows his glorious red carpet gowns at Armani Prive in Paris during couture. His regular designer collection is about real clothes for real women, and there's no woman these clothes wouldn't flatter, or nowhere one could go they wouldn't look chic and appropriate.
Blair: It wasn’t terrible. We pitched it to ABC Family in April, I developed the script for a few months and turned it in. Very quickly from the time we turned it in, we went to pilot and after it was picked up, figuring out where we were going with it in the writers’ room took a couple of months. It wasn’t a protracted development process at all.
Precedent: Speech scored wins at the PGA, DGA and SAG. True, it lost to Social at the Golden Globes, but the Globes are hardly a litmus test for the Oscars anymore.
Thin cashmere is the perfect weight for L.A. summer nights, when there's always a little chill, and even summer mornings in L.A. require "wrappage."
And the studio hired Matthew Vaughn, who was actually on tap to direct Last Stand before deciding against it, to direct First Class, which is not only a prequel, but a period prequel, set in the funky 1960s.
3. Snooki Vs. The Italian Police. Apparently, Snooki and Deena Cortese decided to take the car out, but they ended up taking two cars out: Their car and an Italian police car. That lands Snooki in jail for the fender bender, which should have made her feel more at home.
